Comfort Zone Critter Care offers Fear Free®, force-free, positive, reward-based dog training, dog walking, and pet sitting in your pet’s comfort zone – your home!
As a professional dog trainer, I offer private lessons in your home (or an agreed-upon location). This is perfect for dogs uncomfortable with a group class setting, or if attending group lessons won’t fit your busy schedule. I am a Fear Free Certified dog trainer and a Licensed Family Dog Mediator (Training), which means I look after your dog’s physical and emotional well-being. I choose not to use any shock, prong, or choke collars in my training. I use science-based, positive training methods only, to not harm your dog, your relationship with your dog, or put you (or your dog) in harm’s way. I will never hurt, coerce, scare, or “dominate” your dog in any way. I am 100% committed to evidence-based, force-free training, which uses rewards (never fear or pain) to motivate and train your dog.
From foundation behavior training to managing and solving problem behaviors, I work one-on-one with you and your pet to tailor a specific plan. An in-person or virtual behavior consultation is required before booking private lessons.
There is no age requirement for private lessons. From puppyhood through adolescence, adults, and seniors, clients with dogs of all ages can take advantage of private lesson training.
If you’re currently using aversives (prong collars, shock collars, pinch collars, choke chains, citronella collars, and the like) to train, please click the link to read more about Project tRade.

Dog Training and Behavior Modification Service Rates
I travel to you to address your pet’s behavior where it matters most – in your home!
Initial Behavior Assessment Consultation:
$175 for the initial 1.5 to 2-hour Behavior Assessment Consultation (required for all new clients). The initial behavior assessment consultation is the interview session in which I take a complete medical and behavioral history of your dog(s) in your home. This allows me to formulate a plan that works for you and your family. After your initial consult, I will devise a behavior modification program to get you, your family, and your dog(s) back on track. You can always ask questions and reach out with any follow-up concerns. Payment can be made by credit card, Venmo, or PayPal to reserve your time slot.
In-Home Private Lessons:
$95 for individual training lessons. Payment for training sessions can be made via cash, check, credit card, PayPal, or Venmo. Payment is due in advance to schedule the session.
Training your dog takes time, effort, and commitment. Follow-up lessons are intended to provide you and your dog with consistency and to encourage commitment.
I no longer offer lesson packages. While I previously did, I’ve decided to move away from that approach since not everyone has the time, budget, or need for a full package. Instead, I’ll suggest the number of follow-up lessons to help you reach your goals. These follow-up lessons are priced as they would be in a package, but are available individually, allowing you to schedule them as frequently as you wish.

“Dana has been great helping us understand and smoothing out some behavioral issues with our year-and-a-half-old pup, Tess. She is so knowledgeable, flexible, positive, and fun to work with! Not only has she helped us with Tess, Dana also sat for our cat, Pumpkin, while we were out of town. We trust her 100% with our pets and home!”
